The theme for Tag Tuesday #18 is "birds". I chose to use an old stamp from Old Island Stamp Company called "great expectations". I like the phrase as much as the stamp. Don't we all have great expectations? I also used See Dee stamps, TH butterfly, dancer cut out from bigger stamp, clipart from AISLING D'ART, and distress inks. Thank you for looking.

The theme for Think Monday -Think ATC is Bottles. The pictures I used came from magazines and the fairy is a stamp that I don't know who made. I am thinking this fairy needs help or perhaps she just likes to hang out in empty bottles. Thanks for looking.

Art Creations Friday Challenge 42-Just another pony ride
I made this for Art Creations Friday- Challenge 42 with the image of the little girl they provided. I thought she had kind of a ho-hum look on her face and that is why I call it "just another pony ride". Thanks for looking.
Saturday's WORKOUT-crackle bird
The challenge this week on Saturday's WORKOUT - N0. 74 is Grunge with ALcohol Ink's. I am not exactly sure what grunge is but I think this qualifies. I have too much ink on me for it not to be grunge. All of the stamps I used are from Tim Holtz. There is a brass strip speckled with alcohol ink for the bird to land on. I used a SU stamp -a-ma-jig to get the colors where I wanted them. Thanks for looking and for leaving a comment.

Mixed Media Monday-Music Speaks
The challenge this week on Mixed Media Monday was to somehow use metal in your piece. I have gone for a touch of grunge with the base strings and an old broken key for the metal parts. The bird stamp is from Inkadinkado. The background stamps are from Tim Holtz. It was Jazz Festival weekend so I was thinking music. Thanks for looking.

Art Creations Friday Challenge 41-blissful spinning
We were given a beautiful picture of an old woman spinning on Art Creations Friday. This has a very special meaning to me. I was a spinner for many years and I found it to be a very blissful thing to do. The tag and background stamp are from Tim Holtz. The bird is from Lisa's Altered Art. The yarn is a bit of silk I had from when I was learning to spin.

Kard Krazy Tag Challenge - gone postal
The theme for tag challenge #16 at Kard Krazy was to make a grid tag. I used postal stamps to create a background and added color with distress inks. I used a Whispers stamp for the blocks and then added postage stamps. It was a fun tag to make.
Created Byhand - Quotes Book
The challenge this week at Created Byhand is the letter Q. This prompted me to finish the cover for my quotes book. I cut out letters, circles and scalloped circles using my Big Shot from Stampin Up. A ring holds it all together. Inside I have stamped all of my quotes on acetate circles. This allows me to check out how the quote I want to use will look and where I want to place it before I stamp it. It is a very handy little book that I use all the time.

Ready, Steady...Stamp!
For the challenge at Ready, Steady....Stamp this week the five ingredients were flowers and butterflies, green, buttons, lace and PVA resist technique. I had a hard time getting my card to scan right. The greens are actually greener. I love the technique. It gives a very rich color to what you are painting. I know I will use this often.

Mixed Media Monday-Time of Day
The challenge on Mixed Media Monday was to create a piece around a particular time of day. I am very fortunate in that I live on the waterfront of a beautiful bay. I chose the colors of a sunset to create an acetate card. I get to enjoy wonderful sunsets often...and so does crow. The crow and word stamps are from King Rubber and the water scene is a Whispers stamp. I used chalks and inks to create the background.

Back to school with attitude
Seems I missed the nature challenge. This week the Created Byhand Challenge is "Back To School Days". I made this ATC using paper from Tim Holtz, a quote from Quietfire Designs and clipart from Stampington. The shoes didn't scan well but they are shiny and ready for dancing off to school.
