Tim Holtz - 12 tags of Christmas- 2007- #5

I love blue alcohol inks so tag # 5 from 2007 was a fun one to do except for those splashes of alcohol ink. Tim made it look so easy. Not. My splashes are not so little. My snowflakes are made from inked parchment paper. Come and see who is playing at "Inkin It Up".

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 29

I did a very simple one for this weeks CC challenge over at Studio L3 where our task is to create "weathered wood". My background is embossed using a distressed embossing plate from Sizzix. When went to use it I thought it was wood grain. My grunge paper is all used up so this will have to do. It must be a hardwood. The grain is very close together. The words and image are from Lisa's Altered Art and the bird stamp is from Scrolls Work.

Gingersnap Creations #85

The Chestnut Theme Challenge at Gingersnap Creations is Hot Beverages. I don't think I would wake up if I didn't have coffee. I would just be in a daze. And of course it it the perfect pick me up throughout the day.

Tim Holtz - 12 tags of Christmas- 2007 #4

Here is my 4th tag for Kathy's Start to Finish challenge. My tag doesn't look anything like Tim's but I have used the techniques he used. I don't have the stamp he used and I couldn't find one that would give the effect his did. I ended up using an ATC stamp of Tim's and mounting it on a larger tag.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 28

This week over at Studio L3 the ever so talented Linda has us playing with fragments. I found this a little tricky but fun in a challenging way. I have used stamps from Crafty Secrets (bird) and from Stampin Up ( all the rest).
I am also entering this over at Simon Says Stamp and Show where polka dots are the weeks topic.
Thank you for looking! Come and see all of the wonderful creations!

The 12 tags of Christmas -2007 - Tag 3

My tag 3 of 2007 does not look very much like Tim's but I did use the same technique. I don't have any red or green distress embossing powder or the Santa he used so I decided to use a Santa from Artistic Outpost. I have used black soot, vintage photo and walnut stain distress embossing powders. This is such a fun technique. I love how when you tap the paper from underneath the powders jump into position. My problem is having them stay there once you have embossed. The little girl and the scroll are from from Crafty Secrets. The holly and crown are TH. If you go to "Inkin it Up" Kathy has a link so we can come and see your tags.
Have you been watching Tim's previews of all the 2011 releases. It is amazing! So far I want almost everything. I wish CHA was every 2 years to give me time to save up and to make more use of what I have. They say you can't have everything - but you can try!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 27

We are already at week 27 for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge. I am hoping Tim will produce another book so the amazing Linda at Studio L3 will host another one. I am not really pleased with my results this week but it does show the technique. I have used black soot distress ink, heirloom gold perfect pearls, gold embossing powder, crow and barbed wire masks, a quote from Quietfire Designs and a musical notes punch. It is much more glittery than it appears.
I will also be entering my crow into Simon Says Stamp and Show. I was the lucky winner last week. Thank you Simon Says.

The 12 tags of Christmas -2007 - Tag 2

Here is my Tim Holtz tag for the second week of 2007. Kathy has added a link to her blog so it is really easy to join in. I wasn't sure at first but now I think I love that little snowman.Lots of glitter and bling for this tag along with all the blue distress inks and the snowcap dabber.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 26

I rusted a lot of grunge for Linda's CC Challenge# 26 but kept going back to my new diva stamp from Lost Coast Designs. I could not fit it with the Baroque shape I have used every other time but I will have a place for it in the final book. My letters are from TH idea-ology. I used distress inks - vintage photo, fired brick , pine needles, faded jeans, wild honey and peeled paint. I will also be entering this into SSSS - your Newest stamp.

The 12 tags of Christmas -2007 - Tag 1

Way back when we were doing the 12 tags of Christmas with Tim Holtz my blogging friend Kathy Eddy from "Inkin' It Up" challenged me to go back to the beginning and do a tag a week. I am starting with the first tag of 2007. I am not sure if I will make them all with a Christmas theme but I will use the techniques. If anyone wants to join in please do. No pressure - do as few or as many as you want. Just leave a comment with a link so we can come and look.

Drunken Stampers - Challenge #48- NEW

I hope everyone had fun celebrating the New Year and that 2011 brings you lots of wonderful adventures. The Drunken Stampers are challenging us to use something new. I have used a new to me technique. It involves spray starch and perfect pearls. I came across the idea a long time ago but couldn't find any spray starch till recently. Thank you for looking!
