Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 12

Here we are again having fun at Linda's Studio L3. This week it is all about chipped enamel. I like how the embossing powder works on metal and I happen to have a lot of metal pieces in my stash. I just have to stop burning my fingers. I have used a pieces of corrugated cardboard with some of the top paper removed, for the background. I used Distress crackle paints picket fence and broken china. I stamped over it with SU stamp French Flair. I used worn lipstick, old paper, antique linen and broken china Distress embossing powders to emboss my metal pieces. My scanner wasn't liking this piece at all. Thank you for looking! I hope you get to play at L3 studio this week!

Alter it Monthly - August

This is the first time I have entered the Alter it Monthly Challenge. I can really use some inspiration to alter all those "things" I have collected. The theme for August is Music. THE ALTERED ELEMENT is offering a prize which makes it even more fun to enter. I picked up this mini cupboard at a $1.00 store eons ago. I covered it with music paper, and TH symphony tape. I also used acrylic antique white paint and matte Mod Podge. I used part of a TH stamp and an image from my stash. Thank you for looking!

The PLAY DATE CAFE - PDCC 43

I made this for the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe using a stamp from Scrollswork. I made several copies and cut the women apart, gave them wings, colored them with water colors and then put it back together. The ribbon was made with df tape and Glitter Ritz. The wings have Rock Candy Distress Stickles on them but it doesn't show up in the scan. The background of daisies is from Dover. The inside of this card says "Leave room in your garden for the fairies to dance". Thank you for looking! Comments are very appreciated.

Last week I was given the honor of being allowed to display The Cream in our Coffee badge but I am embarrassed to say I don't know how to do that. Call me clueless in blogland.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 10

Here we are at week 10 of the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge . This week we are doing something with distress stickles so I was disappointed to see I only have Rock Candy distress stickles. I have made another Christmasy page for my book. It may be because every available space in my house is covered with Christmas paper and embellishments. Any day now the Christmas cards will start lining up my shelves. Materials I used for this project include Rock Candy Distress Stickles, walnut stain, pine needles and tumbled glass distress inks, stamps from TH Reindeer flight, die cuts from Sizzix. The background paper is from Basic Grey. Thank you for looking!

Drunken Stampers #29 - Cats!

When I saw that the challenge this week at Drunken Stampers was Cats, I thought I would post this one I made for a friend a while ago. It was fun to make and to give away. I knew I wanted to get in on the Drunken Stampers fun when I read that they are from B.C., Canada - just like me. And speaking of stamping drunk - at the stamp group I belong to we always make a card before we open the wine. Good fun! ... Of course we used to make 3 cards before the wine started flowing. Thank you for looking!

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge- week 8

I am back and ready for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #8 taking place at Studio L3. This week we are Inking Grunge. I love the cementy look of inked grunge and how stamping on it with different colors gives an image depth. I have used stormy sky, bundled sage, dusty concord and broken china distress inks. I also used midnight blue, jet black and stone grey Stazon inks. The stamps are TH, The Old Island Stamp Company and Inkadinkado (I think). I used stream and black alcohol inks on the metal dragonflies. Thank you for looking!

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments and well wishes. I was at the annual family camp out. We had too much heat, mosquitoes, lightening storms with pouring rain, kayak misadventures and a really good time!
